What is a Giclée Print?

Giclée (ghee-clay) is French for "to spray". In short it is a process whereby the original artwork is rendered digitally. Artists at the printery, or atelier, work with the image on a high resolution computer screen to get it completely accurate. Then the image is printed onto a substrate of either canvas or paper, utilizing an iris 3047 printer, which "giclées" the image onto the substrate.
